Competitive Programs

Illusions Rhythmic Gymnastics Club offers competitive rhythmic gymnastics programs for girls ages 5-18. We currently have 3 competitive programs: Capella (A), Blazing Stars (B) and Bright Stars (C) . Competitive tryouts are held in June of each year for the upcoming competitive season. Athletes are evaluated by a panel of experts for physical ability and overall suitability (desire and attitude/maturity) to ensure that each athlete is placed in the best environmental to foster individual growth through sport.

All of our athletes have access to excellent coaching staff and training programming with Kelsey Ivory (retired Illusions gymnast and most decorated gymnast from NS), Julie Jeffery (Provincial Level I Judge, NCCP Level III certified coach for 25 years and retired athlete), Kaylee Rawding (retired Illusions athlete), Allie McLaughlan (retired Illusions athlete), Neave Cornick (retired Illusions athlete) and Meghan Milloy (Level III certified coach for 25 years and retired athlete).

Competitive athletes compete in the Provincial Group category (3-5 athletes perform a group routine) or the Provincial Individual category (one athlete performs 2-3 routines). Some athletes will be invited to compete in both the Provincial Individual and Group categories.

At Illusions, we work with each competitive athlete to help her reach her full potential by building confidence, emphasizing the importance of both individual work ethic and teamwork, and promoting a healthy lifestyle within and outside the gym. Perhaps most importantly, our athletes learn invaluable life lessons while having a lasting experience through sport. Our coaches develop individual athlete goals each competitive season and work with each athlete to ensure they accomplish or exceed these goals.
